A car took 2 hours to travel from Town A to Town B while a truck took 3 hours to travel from Town B to Town A. The distance between the two towns was 180 miles. If the car and truck started their travel at the same time, how many miles did each of them cover when they met?

The rate of car: 180 ÷ 2 = 90 mi/h

The rate of truck: 180 ÷ 3 = 60 mi/h

The total rate: 90 + 60 = 150 mi/h

Then, when they met, the past time: 180 ÷ 150 = 1.2 h

Thus,

Distance covered by car: 90 × 1.2 = 108

Distance covered by truck: 60 × 1.2 = 72
