Sample Problem

River A is 600 m long. River B is one third the length of river A. If river C is 600 m longer than river B, how long is river C?

Solution

River A: 600 m

River B: 600 m ÷ 3 = 200 m

River C: 200 m + 600 m = 800 m

So the answer is 800 m.
