A rectangular tank is 60 in long, 50 in wide and 40 in high. It is filled with water to the depth of 5 in. If 54000 in3 more water is added into the tank, what will be the height of water level in the tank?

The water level will be in.

Solution

The increase in the height of water

= 54000 ÷ (60 × 50)

= 18 in

Height of the new water level

= 18 + 5 = 23 in
