Sample Problem

A car travelling initially at a speed of 30 m/s slows down at the rate of -2 m/s2 for a distance of 60 meters. The car’s velocity after covering this distance is m/s.

Solution

vf2 = vi2 + 2ad  =  302 + 2 × (-2) × 60 = 660

Vf = √660 = 25.7 m/s
